Most people on the difference between home elevator and public elevator only stays in the size of the size, that the home elevator is a reduced version of the public elevator, in fact, not, the home elevator and the public elevator from the function to the technology have a world of difference.
Use of different environments
Public elevators are used in a wide range of applications, such as shopping malls, office buildings, neighborhoods and so on. Home elevator is used in private houses, exclusively for the internal use of a single family.
Different installation conditions
Commercial elevators have high requirements for civil construction. Household elevators have high requirements on the utilization rate of the shaft. The shaft is the channel for elevator up and down, the lower the utilization rate of the shaft, the greater the waste of space.
Different carrying capacity
Public elevator carries more passengers, and the general load capacity ranges from 500KG to 5000KG. Because the number of passengers is relatively small, the general carrying capacity of home elevator is within 400KG.
Different running speeds
The public elevator has a wide range of speeds from 0.25m/s, 0.5m/s and other speeds of cargo elevators to high-speed elevators of 10m/s or more. The speed of household elevator is generally not more than 1m/s.
Different design of machine room
The public elevator usually has a large machine room, which is used to place the elevator mainframe, control panel, speed limiter and so on. Household elevators are usually designed without machine room, and the instruments in the original machine room are moved to the shaft or replaced by other technologies, which is energy-saving and space-saving.
The role of pit is different
Public elevator must reserve the pit, which is equipped with buffer and elevator stop switch and shaft light switch, power socket and lighting. Household elevators have small pits and do not even need to reserve pits.
Regulatory approach is different
Public elevator belongs to the special equipment stipulated in the national regulation “Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Safety of Special Equipment”, which is manufactured, installed, maintained and accepted in accordance with the regulations. Home elevators are bought, sold and used like general household appliances, and do not need to be included in the national regulation.
