When is a fire elevator necessary?
In the event of a fire in a high-rise building, firefighters climbing the fire elevator to extinguish the fire not only saves the time to reach the fire floor, but also reduces the physical consumption of firefighters, and can also deliver fire extinguishing equipment to the fire scene in time during the fire fighting. Therefore, the fire elevator occupies a very important position in the fire fighting.
The “Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings” and “Code for Fire Protection Design of high-rise civil Buildings” clearly stipulate the setting range of fire elevators, requiring that the following five situations should be set up fire elevators:
1. High-rise civil public buildings;
2. Tower residences with ten or more storeys;
3. Units with 12 or more storeys and portico houses;
4. Other Class II public buildings with a building height of more than 32 meters;
5, building height of more than 32 meters with elevator high-rise factory and warehouse.
In actual work, construction engineering designers have designed fire elevators according to the above requirements, even if some engineering designers do not design fire elevators according to the requirements of the “Code”, the construction audit personnel of the public security fire supervision organ will also require them to add fire elevators according to the “Code”.
