1、What is machine-room-less elevator?
Traditional elevators have a machine room, where the host machine and control panel are placed. With the progress of technology, the miniaturization of traction machine and electrical components, people are less and less interested in elevator machine room. Machine-room-less elevator is relative to the machine room elevator, that is to say, eliminating the machine room, the original machine room control panel, traction machine, speed limiter, etc. moved to the shaft and so on, or replaced by other technologies.
2. What are the characteristics of machine-room-less elevator?
The characteristic of machine-room-less elevator is that there is no machine room, which reduces the cost for the builder. In addition, machine-room-less elevator generally adopts frequency control technology and permanent magnet synchronous motor technology, so it is energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and doesn’t take up any space other than the shaft.
3. Development history of machine-room-less elevator
In 1998, Germany HIRO LIFT launched its innovative design of machine-room-less elevator driven by counterweight, after which the machine-room-less elevator developed rapidly. Because it does not occupy the machine room space, green, energy saving and other advantages are more and more people adopt. In recent years, 70-80% of newly installed elevators in Japan and Europe are machine-room-less elevators, and only 20-30% of elevators are machine-room or hydraulic elevators.
4. The main scheme of the current machine-room-less elevator:
(1) top-mounted: the permanent magnet synchronous traction machine is placed in the shaft at the top of the traction ratio of 2:1, the winding method is more complicated.
(2) Lower-mounted type: the permanent magnet synchronous traction machine is placed at the bottom of the shaft, with a traction ratio of 2:1 and a complicated winding method.
(3) Car roof drive type: the traction machine is placed on the roof of the car.
(4) Counterweight drive type: the traction machine is placed in the counterweight.
